Ocean Bound!

Well, since we had been home for a whole week we decided to go on another vacation!  We headed south to Gulf Shores for our 3rd annual trip to the beach.  It was so relaxing and great family time.  We stayed at the same condo complex that we that stayed at last year and it was a great experience.  On our first day there the waves were pretty big and had really churned up the shore so the beach conditions weren't the greatest the first couple of days, but after that it was fabulous.  The boys enjoyed floating on the waves and Tanner was self sufficient in getting around.  Mason was still pretty scared and wanted to have a hand on you at all times!  We played in the sand a ton and took walks along the shore.  Tanner learned how to use his snorkel and he had a lot of fun looking for shells.  On our last day there were thousands of little fish swimming in schools along the shore and David and the boys spent a lot of time trying to catch them with nets.  When they were successful, they threw their catch on the sand for the seagulls to eat.  The fish were pretty fast so it wasn't that easy to catch them, but Tanner was able to get a net full and he was so excited that he could barely talk!  He also caught a jelly fish and thought that was great.  We saw dolphins twice...once from our balcony while we were eating breakfast and another day when we were down by the beach.  We are so blessed to be able to do things like this as a family and we pray that God willing we will be able to go back again next year.

Can you believe the water is so calm!

There is just something about being buried in sand!

Look at that snorkeler

Practicing in the pool

Looking for shells

He was really good at using the snorkel by the time we left

The dark spot is a school of little fish...you could swim right through them

Some of the little fish they caught and put in a bucket to show me

David took this picture of a dolphin...how cool is that???
