Fun in DC!

So we took a little field trip to DC to visit our good friends Juan and Mindy who are there on a temporary job assignment.  I figure that DC is educational enough to qualify as a school trip!  The flights were great there and back and Tanner said the flight went so quick!  We didn't have window seats so that was kind of a bummer that we couldn't see the sights from the air.  Our friends live really close to a Metro station so we were able to get from the airport to their house on public transportation (and our own legs!).  The boys thought that was quite an adventure.  We were able to go downtown DC and see the Capitol, the White House, and we walked the mall, but due to the government shut down there wasn't much going on.  It was a lot of walking for little legs!  It was just fun for the kids to play together and we were able to celebrate Silas' first birthday which was a treat.  It is really neat to have the opportunity to create these memories with our kids.

She is a seasoned traveler already!

The pilot offered for the boys to sit in front!

What a pair...Tanner needs to grow into that hat!

Well, I am glad they weren't piloting the flight!

All six kids!  What a house full!

Most of the water fountains weren't working, but this one at the Canadian Embassy was.
