And Then There Were Three!!!

It was with great joy and a little chaos that on Saturday, January 5th a little girl was added to our family.  She was born at 11:09 pm and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. and was 19 inches long.   It was a little chaotic because when I went into labor David was out of town on a four day trip and there was no way for him to get back to Atlanta.  Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I was in labor until pretty late so by the time I was able to get someone to watch the boys and help me to the hospital it all happened very fast!  My good friend Rhonda drove me to the hospital and stayed with me through the delivery for which I was very thankful that I was not alone.  Her husband stayed at the house with the boys and after staying at the hospital most of the night with me, Rhonda went back to our house to watch the boys.  David flew back to Atlanta on Sunday morning (yes, he was piloting the flight!) and he arrived at the hospital around 9:30 am.  Once David was there we were able to discuss names and after much deliberation we decided on Johanna Helen...Johanna means God is gracious.  The boys enjoyed visiting at the hospital and when they came to take us home, they brought beautiful flowers.  After waiting almost 3 years for another baby, little Johanna is a very special blessing and her brothers love her dearly.

Because she was early, she was covered in vernix when she was born

The nurse made the cute little bow on her hat!

She didn't open her eyes the entire time we were at the hospital

Long day and night, but we are still smiling!

Tanner's first time holding his new sister

Mason wasn't sure about her..

They were very curious if she had feet and toes...so David was showing them.

Still sleeping...

In the carseat and ready for her first trip in the car...to go home
