Maple Syrup Season 2013

The boys were very determined that we needed to go to Wisconsin to help Grandpa make maple syrup this year.  David was able to get a bunch of days off in a row so we headed north and Johanna had her second flight.  Thankfully the sap did run while we were there so they boys got the whole experience.  We collected the sap out in the woods and the snow was still pretty deep so it was a lot of work for the boys to tramp around, but they were troopers.  Tanner did an excellent job helping to dump buckets and Mason mostly liked to ride the cart.  Johanna had tractor duty and she did a great job being content in the tractor cab!  We boiled the sap down that we had collected and the boys were able to have some ice cream with fresh syrup.  It was a fun trip, but David and I were pretty sore when we got home.  We were also able to stop and visit with Grandpa and Grandma Dahlie and Aunt Beth which was great.

Johanna was a great traveler
