Our Wisconsin Vacation Begins!

The much anticipated day finally came and the boys and I headed to Wisconsin for a long summer vacation.  We started out in the southern part of the state due to some family events and we stayed with Uncle Anthony and Stacie.  The boys love their "Uncle" so they were very happy to spend a couple of days with him.  We had a family picnic on Saturday for my mom's side of the family and it was great seeing extended family and Aunt Amber was in charge of games which Tanner loved - especially the water balloons!  On Sunday the boys got to stay with Uncle and Stacie while I went to a wedding and they had a special time riding Breeze, Stacie's horse, giving him a bath, and playing in the sprinkler.

After all that fun we headed north and picked up Lofton and Landon along the way.  Grandma had reserved a cabin on a local lake for her and all the grand kids to stay at.  They had a great time playing in the lake, kayaking, and roasting lots of marshmallows!  Tanner and Mason didn't end up sleeping at the cabin because they got scared, but maybe next year!

We are now getting into a routine and the boys spend most of their day helping Grandpa out on the farm.  The boys were excited to to be able to help Grandpa with the whole process of cutting hay, then raking it, and finally baling it.  Of course, then they had to help unload it and stack it in the barn too!  They were great helpers and hard workers.  We spent an afternoon at a local beach and we also took a day trip with Aunt Lane and Bella to a Wilderness Walk to check out some cool animals.  Both boys love the farm and Mason told us that he is going to have 10 tractors and 10 skid steers when he grows up and of course be a farmer like Grandpa.

Eating breakfast at the cabin - quite a crew!

This was a rescue mission to get Mason when he couldn't get back by himself

The lake was a little cool for the boys, but they did okay

Sun bathing with his tube on...just in case he falls in!

There was a sand pile that they enjoyed playing in

Tanner and Landon are picking wild raspberries...our cabin is the one on the right

Eating hot dogs that we grilled over the camp fire..yum, yum

A big rock and sand pile that they thought was great fun

Tanner and Landon are ready for the Olympics!
Unloading hay with Dad...the fun is over

Maybe in a couple of years the boys will be in charge of unloading!
The woman always has to do all the work!
