We took the boys to Gulf Shores, AL this past week and we had a blast! It is about a six hour drive and both boys did great in the car. We rented a condo that was right on the beach overlooking the Gulf and that was so convenient and beautiful. We had perfect sunny weather for our stay and the boys loved playing at the beach and in the kiddie pool. The ocean was a bit rough the first day, but after that it calmed down and Tanner had so much fun riding the waves. We did have a small encounter with a pretty large jellyfish, but everyone seems fine. On our last morning there we sat out on the balcony to eat breakfast and there swimming right in the shallow water was a shark! It swam right in front of our condo for a good 20 minutes so that was pretty fun to watch. We showed it to Tanner, but we aren't sure if he actually saw it. That morning down at the beach there were also thousands of minnows swimming in the shallow water and hundreds of stingrays and mullet were feeding on them. There was a lot going on in the water that morning and to top it off, we saw dolphins swimming past. They were pretty far out, but it was still really neat. We would like our trip to the beach to be an annual occasion, but we will see what the future holds.
